Jon and Melinda had not long moved into their new house when they decided to get in touch with us.

The kitchen they had inherited was galley style, it had limited natural light and no space social space. So with the desire to create a more social, open and light kitchen and dining area, they quickly got started on an extension to the rear of their home.

The property boasts a pretty rear garden which Jon and Melinda were keen to be able to see whilst at the sink and cooking on the hob. They wanted an island for seating and also as a secondary work surface.

With the architects plans in place and a clear understanding of the brief got started on their brand new shaker kitchen design.

John and Melinda came to us with a clear vision for a timeless Shaker Kitchen design that would compliment their new light and airy space. They quickly decided on the door and frame mouldings that they wanted and enhanced the style they were looking for during one of their showroom visits.

To make the most of all of the available space we made the worktops by the sink and hob  deeper than standard which added to the bespoke feel of the kitchen. We included a deep drawer for specific appliance storage and included a BORA Pure extracted cooktop.

We were also able to make use of a very narrow section of kitchen around the new structural beams with a narrow storage solution for the herbs and spices. And finally we designed a functional pantry for easy access to the every day essentials.

To meet the brief and create a airy feel the colour pallet for the cabinetry was kept and light with John and Melina opting for Temple Bar and then a gorgeous contrast on the island with Bond Street.
