Williamscot, Oxfordshire

The Brief
Rachel and Mike initially got in touch after visiting our showroom while looking for inspiration for their recently purchased home. New to the local area they were determined to update their existing kitchen design and had decided that Cherrywood Bespoke would be a good fit to help bring their vision of a timeless, classic kitchen to life.
From the outset it was clear that storage and workspace was going to be key in enhancing the existing kitchen design in Rachel and Mike’s Oxfordshire home so together we set about discussing exactly what it was they wanted from a new kitchen.
Utilising smart storage solution within the space they already had, without making any structural changes, was a must and so early on we agreed that an island was the best way to achieve this. After completing a visit to their home, plus a follow-up meeting at our Oxfordshire showroom, we opted for an entirely new kitchen design in order to provide them with the light, warm and impactful kitchen they wanted.
The Vision
To achieve the style that Rachel and Mike were after, our team opted for a classic Shaker kitchen. Building on this traditional kitchen design as the premise, we incorporated many bespoke, smart storage solutions to meet the customers need for a versatile space. Comprising an integrated fridge freezer, built in pantry cupboard and discreet under-island storage feature, we ensured that this kitchen design had everything a busy, modern home needs, including handmade tray units, bespoke cutlery dividers and hidden bin storage.
During the first round of discussions, Rachel and Mike wanted to go big on an island design. However, we recommended scaling it down in size slightly to keep the space free flowing and functional. Thankfully they agreed, and the result is a beautifully made island that doubles as a storage solution and a social seating area too – much to the enjoyment of Rachel, Mike and their two dogs.
In order to create the light and classic space they were after, we shared colour options from Mylands Paint and landed upon a natural stone colour with light worktops, helping to complete the final vision and bring Rachel and Mike’s brand-new kitchen design to life.
