Wardington, Oxfordshire

Modern kitchen with white cabinets, stone floor, and large window.

The Brief

Our clients for this Oxfordshire based kitchen project were recommended to us through a previous customer. After taking a good look around our website they made contact through the website form and follow up phone calls.

Our customers had been in their countryside farm house for some time and described it as ‘shabby chic’ and in real need of some attention, they had contemplated moving before deciding to complete a total home renovation. Initially our discussions revolved around updating some bedroom furniture but quickly became far more than that, and ended up including 6 rooms within the house. We took on the project management role as well as the furniture and kitchen design, build and fit.

The brief for the kitchen was well thought through, the space that housed a dining table was to be updated to a functional island/peninsular to allow for a social space with added storage. The nearby pantry and utility also needed a design eye to improve the practicality and organisation.

The Vision

To suit the character of this country farmhouse we opted for a Shaker style kitchen. The cabinetry was finished in Chambers gate no.85 by Mylands and the peninsular in Oratory no. 237 – which was then used on the woodwork in the adjoining rooms for ultimate continuity. To compliment this we used Burnished brass hardware and aged brass taps.

There was new flooring laid throughout the kitchen and adjoining family room and we included cabinetry for their existing Fisher Paykel fridge/freezer.

The clients opted for an Everhot range oven in a new Marine Blue colour which complimented the overall colour pallet beautifully.

To help keep things organised we added specific power, pen and keys drawer to the design.
