We get to know our customers’ biggest challenges in their current kitchen and make sure we solve them in our kitchen design.

When a kitchen’s made by hand, even the smallest moments — turning on the tap, opening a drawer — feel that bit more special. It’s the craft in every detail that makes the difference” – Luke Cherry

Classic Shaker Cabinetry - Design & Craft

At Cherrywood Bespoke, our Shaker kitchen designs are guided by the iconic principles of the original Shaker makers – where honesty, simplicity, and purpose come together beautifully. Known for their solid flat-panel doors, framed with clean square edges and minimal detailing, Shaker cabinetry celebrates form through function. True to tradition, early Shaker kitchens often featured handcrafted wooden knobs, dovetailed drawers, and open shelving with hand-carved pegs, each element carefully made, never rushed.

These timeless qualities continue to inspire today’s homes. Shaker kitchens remain one of the most loved and enduring styles, favoured by interior designers, architects, and makers for their quiet elegance and adaptability.

At Cherrywood Bespoke, we honour this heritage while gently blending it with modern touches. We offer three thoughtfully designed Shaker styles, each of which can combine beautiful freestanding pieces with bespoke fitted cabinetry – crafted to suit your space, your lifestyle, and your story.

Birch Plywood - Natural or With Colour

There is something quietly exquisite about handmade birch plywood cabinetry. The exposed layers, seen in drawers, door edges or carved into recess handles – show that every detail matters.  With their flat fronts and unfussy look these kitchens feel laid-back yet luxuriously considered, fitting seamlessly into a range of interior styles.

15 Year Guarantee

We are absolutely committed to delivering a complete service and that extends beyond the final installation date of your kitchen. We offer a professional 15 Year Guarantee on all our cabinetry but you can expect our craftsmanship to last a lifetime.

As a bespoke kitchen company, we can craft every element of your Shaker kitchen to reflect both the character of your home and your individual lifestyle.  We’ve designed three Shaker Kitchen styles, each telling its own story, rooted in tradition yet tailored for modern living.  If you book a visit to our Showroom we would love to show the these styles and the differences between each, and discuss your individual project.

Shaker kitchens are known for their enduring adaptability. Whether you’re renovating a grand Victorian or Georgian home, a farmhouse kitchen, a cosy cottage – or a contemporary apartment, a bespoke Shaker design will always feel at home.

True to the original Shaker philosophy, we believe in making things slowly and well – by hand, using time-honoured techniques. The result is a kitchen that’s as functional and durable as it is quietly beautiful.

Simple Timeless Design

Hover over the hotspots below to read more about our shaker kitchen layout.

Spacious kitchen with a blue island, wooden floors, and two large windows.

Layout

We will begin with your 3 most important items – cooker, fridge and sink and create a dedicated Working Triangle. The working triangle approach means we keep these 3 items as close as possible to mimimise the number of footsteps between each and make sure your space flows effortlessyly.

We always spend a lot of time getting to you know your space and how you like to use it. Great kitchen design is often about solving layout problems so we ensure we focus on the hiccups you may currently experience and make sure we solve these in the layout and design we propose.

\

Aesthetics

We will focus on creating symmetry with your shaker kitchen design. Our designers will start with the cooker and use this as a focal point, building the rest of the kitchen out using this as the centre. Following this approach will help us to arrange your cabinets in a way that is both practical and pleasing to the eye.

\

Worktops

We are huge fans of quartz to compliment our shaker kitchens. Using natural products is a must for us where possible, and it enables us to create striking finishes. We often use either silestone or ceasarstone for our quartz worktops.

\

Cabinet materials

We offer either birch ply or oak ply carcasses with our shaker style kitchens. Using a good, strong sustainable ply means our carcasses are robust enough for whatever life throws at them.

Our cabinet doors and drawer frames are made using Tulipwood and Maple for durability and cohesive properties. All of our drawers are made using either solid oak or birch, but ply drawers are also another option. We can also stain the interior of your cabinetry a range of natural wood colours from rich dark Walnut to light Oak.

\

Cabinet furniture

Choosing handles and handle colour are worth taking some time over. We only use the hightest quality handfinished cabientry furniture and have a full range in our showroom for you to ponder. A great time to consider this is at your details meeting with our specialist interior designer who will help guide you to the perfect speciciation for your bespoke kitchen space.

\

Appliances

We can help advise you on your appliance needs and source them. Integrating them is advsiable to help stick to the linear and simple looks we try to maintain. We will always work with your current layout to create a functional flowing space.

\

Lighting

Lighting is a very important part of creating the ambience in your space, as much as it is required practically.

Overhead lighting using downlights for example can be excellent over preparation areas, whilst wall lights can look fantastic to frame a range cooker. We often suggst pendant lighting over islands & dining tables. Our interior designer is always happy to help if you have any questions.

Don’t have more than you need. Include the most important ones, and keep the shaker kitchen style principle of simplicity at the forefront of your design plans. The last thing you want is unused appliances taking up valuable storage space.

Any Colour In Any Shade!

Shaker colour palettes traditionally combined natural wall tones with hand-painted cabinetry in soft, matt shades of blue, yellow, green, or red. At Cherrywood Bespoke, we embrace bold colour but are equally drawn to the quiet beauty of more subtle, natural tones – often blending the two to create balance and warmth.

We’ve spent hours exploring the palettes of Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Paint & Paper Library and Mylands to curate a collection of colour combinations that feel both timeless and personal.

When you join us on your kitchen journey, you’ll spend two to three hours with our interior designer to craft a colour story that’s uniquely yours.

Each colour choice is thoughtfully paired with high-quality worktops – quartz, granite, or marble – and finished with hand-selected designer handles.

From the timber in our workshop to the materials in our showroom, everything we use is of exceptional quality and sourced here in Britain – apart from our sustainably sourced Plywood that we purchase from FSC-certified Latvain Forests.

Birch Plywood is often associated with Scandinavian design, and for a good reason.  There’s something universally appealing about the calm functional beauty of Scandi style.  It’t all about clean lines, thougthful details, and a quiet blance betwen from and function.

Our bespoke Birch plywood kitchens are designed withe these same principles in mind, bringing a sense of calm, clarity and craftmanship to your space.

Sustainably Sourced

We love working with birch plywood – a material we use throughout our kitchens, whether it’s proudly on display or quietly doing its job behind the scenes. It’s exceptionally strong, stable, and a real pleasure to work with when treated with the care it deserves. Because quality and responsibility matter to us, we source all of our birch plywood from sustainably managed, FSC-certified forests in Latvia, ensuring it’s not only a joy to use but also a choice we can stand behind.

Crafted for Everyday Life

Kitchens are indeed the hard working heart of the home. Birch Plywood is a wonderfully resilient material for kitchen design, it’s robust and durable and incredibly strong and this is one of the reasons it is popular within kitchen craftsmanship. It’s the perfect material for this dynamic space, it’s practical and creates kitchen cabinetry that is an absolute pleasure to use and live with.

Made For Living Well

At Cherrywood Bespoke, conscious functionality is at the heart of everything we do. Each plywood kitchen is thoughtfully designed around the specific needs of our clients. We take the time to understand what isn’t working in their current space – and create tailored solutions that genuinely improve how they live and cook, no matter the size or layout.

The clean, minimalist style of our plywood kitchens naturally suits busy households. Their simple, balanced design not only reduces visual clutter but also brings a quiet sense of order; something our clients often say adds calm and clarity to their everyday routines.
