Beautiful Honest Cabinetry

Shaker kitchens follow a timeless tradition – focusing care and energy on what truly matters, letting go of the rest, and making the essential simply beautiful.

At Cherrywood Bespoke, every Shaker kitchen we create is a nod to a timeless tradition rooted in simplicity and purpose. If you can bring to mind the original Shaker craftsmen many years ago, carefully shaping flat-panel doors with clean, square edges – choosing function over fuss, and beauty in simplicity – you will feel our authentic passion. Their kitchens were filled with handcrafted wooden handles, dovetail drawers, and solid shelves held by hand-carved pegs; details made to last a lifetime.

This enduring approach has stood the test of time, making Shaker kitchens a beloved choice among interior designers, architects, and traditional makers today.

We bring that heritage into the present, blending old-world craftsmanship with modern needs. Our three Shaker cabinet styles marry freestanding charm with bespoke fitted designs, creating kitchens that feel both classic and uniquely yours, a story of past and present beautifully joined.

As a bespoke kitchen company, we can craft every element of your Shaker kitchen to reflect both the character of your home and your individual lifestyle.  We’ve designed three Shaker Kitchen styles- each telling its own story, rooted in tradition yet tailored for modern living. If you book a visit to our Showroom we would love to show the these styles and the differences between each, and discuss your individual project.

Shaker kitchens are known for their enduring adaptability. Whether you’re renovating a grand Victorian or Georgian home, a farmhouse kitchen, a cosy cottage, or a contemporary apartment, a bespoke Shaker design will always feel at home.

True to the original Shaker philosophy, we believe in making things slowly and well, by hand, using time-honoured techniques. The result is a kitchen that’s as functional and durable as it is quietly beautiful.

Beauty rests on utility – when form serves function, the result is both beautiful and complete – Shaker philosophy

Any Colour In Any Shade!

Shaker colour palettes traditionally combined natural wall tones with hand-painted cabinetry in soft, matt shades of blue, yellow, green, or red. At Cherrywood Bespoke, we embrace bold colour but are equally drawn to the quiet beauty of more subtle, natural tones – often blending the two to create balance and warmth.

We’ve spent hours exploring the palettes of Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Paint & Paper Library, and Mylands to curate a collection of colour combinations that feel both timeless and personal. When you join us on your kitchen journey, you’ll spend two to three hours with our interior designer to craft a colour story that’s uniquely yours.

Each colour choice is thoughtfully paired with high-quality worktops: quartz, granite, or marble, and finished with hand-selected designer handles. From the timber in our workshop to the materials in our showroom, everything we use is of exceptional quality and sourced here in Britain.

Simple Timeless Design

Hover over the hotspots below to read more about our shaker kitchen layout.

Spacious kitchen with a blue island, wooden floors, and two large windows.

Layout

We will begin with your 3 most important items – cooker, fridge and sink and create a dedicated Working Triangle. The working triangle approach means we keep these 3 items as close as possible to mimimise the number of footsteps between each and make sure your space flows effortlessyly.

We always spend a lot of time getting to you know your space and how you like to use it. Great kitchen design is often about solving layout problems so we ensure we focus on the hiccups you may currently experience and make sure we solve these in the layout and design we propose.

\

Aesthetics

We will focus on creating symmetry with your shaker kitchen design. Our designers will start with the cooker and use this as a focal point, building the rest of the kitchen out using this as the centre. Following this approach will help us to arrange your cabinets in a way that is both practical and pleasing to the eye.

\

Worktops

We are huge fans of quartz to compliment our shaker kitchens. Using natural products is a must for us where possible, and it enables us to create striking finishes. We often use either silestone or ceasarstone for our quartz worktops.

\

Cabinet materials

We offer either birch ply or oak ply carcasses with our shaker style kitchens. Using a good, strong sustainable ply means our carcasses are robust enough for whatever life throws at them.

Our cabinet doors and drawer frames are made using Tulipwood and Maple for durability and cohesive properties. All of our drawers are made using either solid oak or birch, but ply drawers are also another option. We can also stain the interior of your cabinetry a range of natural wood colours from rich dark Walnut to light Oak.

\

Cabinet furniture

Choosing handles and handle colour are worth taking some time over. We only use the hightest quality handfinished cabientry furniture and have a full range in our showroom for you to ponder. A great time to consider this is at your details meeting with our specialist interior designer who will help guide you to the perfect speciciation for your bespoke kitchen space.

\

Appliances

We can help advise you on your appliance needs and source them. Integrating them is advsiable to help stick to the linear and simple looks we try to maintain. We will always work with your current layout to create a functional flowing space.

\

Lighting

Lighting is a very important part of creating the ambience in your space, as much as it is required practically.

Overhead lighting using downlights for example can be excellent over preparation areas, whilst wall lights can look fantastic to frame a range cooker. We often suggst pendant lighting over islands & dining tables. Our interior designer is always happy to help if you have any questions.

Don’t have more than you need. Include the most important ones, and keep the shaker kitchen style principle of simplicity at the forefront of your design plans. The last thing you want is unused appliances taking up valuable storage space.
